It has been a long while since I wrote something in here. I will try to kick start this once again, something I might have to do every weekend. I have given my gaming life a break for almost a year. Wow, time goes by.
Finally I have acquired a new game. Sort of new. Anyway, I started playing SC2. I have been playing for a couple of months now. I have been playing as Protoss since I started the game.
I find that the game is pretty much balanced right now. However, it does feel like a rock, paper, and scissor game. Every units has a counter unit. Every unit has a weakness. Every unit composition has a counter that could result to total annihilation. As you can see from above photo, I am facing against the common unit composition for Terran players. M&Ms they call it.
So, I threw in a templar in my group. Stormed the heck out of my enemy and burned them with lasers. Oh gosh.
Yup. That is all what is left in his army.
This was one of my first exciting games that I had. I am so glad that I did not end up in the bronze league after playing 5 games in ranked. I am still trying to not to just watch my units die. Oh well. I need more practice. See you guys in SC2!
I have tried uploading the gameplay video about 3-4 times. It kept on being rejected by the server for no reason. It finally went through when I changed the file name. I guess it was too long or something. Anyways, here is the gameplay video from my youtube channel.
This is my first time going through the missions. I am trying to get used to the controls and such. Going from playing first person shooter frequently then to a TPS/OTS one is a big deal for me. I have to get used to the camera angles as well. Gah, sometimes it gave me headache to play this game.
Hey guys!
Finally, I have obtained a copy of Mass Effect 3. EB offered me the Collector's Edition and I said "Sure, why not." Anyways, I want to share what came in with the box. Good quality by the way :) Smells like fresh ink.
Okay let's start with the main box:
Cover Box
Steel Game Case
Manual to the left. Online Pass to the right
Game Disk
Uhmm...card?
Comics
Art Book
I thought that was all. Then N7 Patch (Velcro) popped out.
Care to watch me play the game? Visit my youtube channel here --->6deux's Channel I will start uploading as soon as I can.
I have finally gotten a Hauppauge PVR to record some gameplays. I have been looking for it in my city for a long time. Now I just need a good computer to edit videos. High definition videos takes so much resources from my current computer. It is struggling to handle it. Anyways, here is my very first gameplay video.
Recording the gameplay is pretty easy. I just had to install the program that comes with the PVR, plug in all the necessary cables, and just press capture in my computer. It will start recording whatever you see in your screen. So far I am impressed of the quality of the video.
I have been busy with PS3 recently. As we all know, good games usually come out on fall. This year has been the best one so far. Dark Souls, Ace Combat, and Battlefield 3! I did not include Batman to my list as it does not interest me.
I have not finished Dark Souls yet. It is extremely time consuming and difficult. I will finish it sometime later on. However, the game is simply AWESOME! Dark Souls is technically Dark Souls re-worked for both PS3 and Xbox. The graphics is pretty much improved and as well as the gameplay. No more spell spamming as you are limited to certain amount of spell usage. You have to make every spell cast count. Other than that, you will see similarities during boss fights. There will be some similarities on the storyline too.
There is one thing that I did not like about Dark Souls - the inability to play with friends easily. You have to be on the same server as your friend. There are multiple servers and you are put into a random one when you fire up the game. There is nothing in-game that tells you what server you are on. This took away the fun from venturing the open world with your friends. Now, they force you to play with complete strangers.
Anyways, here is a video of someone who finished the game within a short period of time. See for yourself. Spoiler alert!!!
Alright, what about Ace Combat Assault Horizon?
The last one I played was AC4 for PS2. Similar gameplay but man this new one blew me away. Helicopter fights, bombing runs, and more! I am impressed and satisfied with my purchase of this game. I got the pre-order bonus even if I did not pre-ordered the game. Which is a plus :)
Anyways, the storyline for AC4 is somewhat predictable. It is about betrayal. That's all. Nothing more. I hoped that the story would be much longer but the gameplay would be very repetitive if they do. The game's campaign mode is always action packed, lots of explosions, and good voice acting. Took me a while to beat certain missions but it is alright.
The online multiplayer part for me is just ok as well. It is a P2P multiplayerso you have to have a good connection in order to host a game. Sometimes it takes a while to join a game because of P2P connection. Sometimes, I constantly become disconnected because the quickmatch system puts me on a game where the host is from Japan. Other than the connection, the gameplay is great. I never been so stressed while playing a game because you are constantly under fire from other aircrafts. You can customize your aircrafts with all the colours of the rainbow - which is awesome!
I have tried Co-op but my experience is nothing different than the offline campaign.
There will be upcoming DLCs too but I am not sure I will be playing AC:AS since Battlefield 3 is out.
Speaking of Battlefield. I have pre-ordered it and got 2 set of codes. Surprise surprise! Well not really. You need to get a key to access the online portion of the game. This is just a warning for the people who want to buy the game used.
The main focus of Battlefield is the graphics, gameplay, and the intense realism due to the physics engine. This is my first Battlefield. I wanted to buy the first Battlefield when it came out. However, I did not have money to upgrade my computer in order to play it. Anyways, most people should have been able to try out the game due to the beta that they had a couple of weeks ago. Based from that, they have fixed major bugs, kinks, and dents from the beta. However, some are still there but the gameplay is much smoother.
I don't know what to say about this game. It has it's own fun factor to it. The game has so much things to unlock that to think about it, you will need to spend so many hours for this game to unlock everything. I'm talking about multiplayer wise since the game is basically built around multiplayer. Some are very challenging to unlock. For example, i had trouble shooting down another aircraft with my own aircraft. You only have the gun on your aircraft and as you shoot one down, you only unlock flares. Things like that makes the game challenging.
I don't have much complaints about the multiplayer. The game is responsive and sometimes laggy probably due to a player with a bad connection and joins in the room. I am happy to see tons of improvements in this game from the beta.
The storyline is well...more like you are re-living a soldier's story. You are playing a character that is being interrogated by an organization. CIA due to the obliteration of Paris. A nuclear bomb went off. I don't want to say much about the story because I might spit out spoilers. Anyways, I find it not exciting nor boring. Voice acting is great and 3D animation as well as lighting is somewhat have met my expectation.
There is nothing much to say now for Battlefield 3. There are millions of people playing it right now as we speak. All I can say is - you SHOULD DEFINITELY GET THIS GAME. It is fun, challenging, and nice eye candy.
That's right. Finally, I logged in to the PS Store and it is there! Downloading as we speak. To give you guys an idea how big the beta file will be, here is a screenshot:
It has been a while since I posted something. Recently, I went to vacation for a couple of weeks. Anyways, I am excited for the Battlefield 3 beta coming up on 27th September. It will be 29th for the rest of the players who has not pre-ordered the game or bought the MoH last year. I have been waiting for so long for this game.
Also, I have purchased the 7.1 official PS3 headset. So far, I am very satisfied with it. It does not feel cheap at all. It has a metallic headband and a very comfortable headphones. I am not sure if they are 100% leather but they smell nice.
The headset works really well with the games I have been playing. Saves my life several times when playing online. The battery life depends on how you use it. If you keep the volume up, the battery will drain faster. The good thing about it is that you can plug it in on your PC or laptop and it will charge. You can also use the headset while gaming on your PC.
The headset is about 100$. Well worth the price.
I will update soon with Battlefield beta in about three days.
I call this the Omega shield. I accidentally made an omega sign with letter R.
I am not sure what I are my chances to winning this competition. I think the gallery will open once the design competition design is done. Can't wait for other entries.
This shield is designed with minimalistic approach. I had fun designing the shield myself. I am a huge fan of RPG games. It took me about 2 hours to play around with this sheild lol. Made a doodle yesterday and it does not look right. I have two more entries to go.
If you see my shield in the gallery, please vote! I call it the Omega shield. I know - it is such a corny name lol.

Unchartered 3 multiplayer beta is out now. I have not played Unchartered before but hey, it is free and exclusive for PS+ users for now. Since Sony offered PS+ for thirty days for free, everyone should have this beta.
Searching...searching..searching
I played a co-op and a multiplayer.Took me almost an hour to find a game through matchmaking. Seems like no one is playing it yet or it is just failing. The controls are fine but the character movements and shooting are clunky. Controls are easy to get used to though. The camera is not a problem but the character movement is bugging me. I think there is a lag input or something. It is just not fun. I tried to keep playing but the framerate dropped so low that the PS3 froze. I guess the PS3 forgot to decrease the texture on other parts of the map. Lol. The UI is at least better and much less cluttered compared to SOCOM4 during gameplay. Which is what I like.Anyways, that's my first impression. I am not purchasing this game.
A new firmware has just came out now. I just been kicked off PSN lol and forced to update. Anyways, there are no info in regards to this patch. According to the playstation blog, it is a minor patch and just fixing some stability and improved network services. Downloading the update though takes longer...so maybe there is more behind this update that Sony is keeping for themselves until it get's checked by hackers out there.
Anyways, I am installing the update now...it is going to take a few minutes. I will update this post when I find more information.
Oh yea, I have not post anything new for a looooong while. I have been busy.
Update(1)
Apparently, someone figured out the button combination that the QA testers uses. According to some people, this patch is suppose to prevent regular players to access the QA mode.
I just finished watching it. I feel like there was no big boom from that conference. The conference started with the CEO of Sony Entertainment talking about the recent hacking stuff. UC3 and Resistance 3 followed after. They revealed gameplays that has not been seen before and live demonstration. New Sly Cooper and Starhawk trailer was revealed as well. There were some games that will be ported from PSP to PS3 like God Of War.
The big reveal was the real name of NGP. It is called Vita! Yea, it sounds like Vista but I will prefer calling it PSV than saying Vita. Thank goodness they changed the name from NGP. Price was also revealed. 249$ for wifi only version and for 3G it is 299$. I think it is pretty cheap for a powerful device. Might be a pick up on day 1. Hopefully, they are problem free. There is not much difference for the 3G version anyways. Maybe I'll get the 3G version.
Overall, I think the only big announcement is in regards to Vita. Other than that, no other announcement in regards to PS3 price cut. PS3 will get new 3rd party services for PSN. So...maybe we will wait until next day for some goodies for the games we are looking forward to.
Ohhh yeaaa finally! It is up. Free 30day trial for PS+ and other goodies that comes with it. Activate your PS+ now I don't know what to say. I already downloaded a bunch of free stuff that you can keep even after your free PS+ subscription is done.
Your chance to get your PS+ package is only available until July 3rd!
If you have 2 or more accounts, you can download pretty much all the games for both PS3 and PSN. However, those accounts should be registered prior to April 20 2011.
Game list vanished from PS Store? Don't worry! It is still there! Go to your "Account Management" then hit "Transaction Management" then to "Services List" and finally to "SCEA Promotion".
Hello, there is a press release that was just posted by Sony. All PSN (including PS Store) will be back online worldwide with the exception of Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. It will resume all services on June 2, 2011 which is tomorrow.
Update(1): Welcome Back package will not be available until sometime later. Expect some delays and errors when you try to access PS Store as many will be trying to access it at the same time.
"Tokyo, June 2, 2011– Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services today June 2, 2011, in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Watch the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Am3rica teaser.
Then here is a link directly on that scene where MW3 : Am3rica teaser looks like without the technical stuff matrix look alike : Red Alert 2. That video is the first thing that came into my head when I saw that trailer. I am pretty sure some of you guys have played RA2.
Yes! The Russians are back in MW3. This time it is a total world war. A continuation of the story from the last one. Are you getting it or are you getting bored of Call of Duty coming out every year only bringing small changes everytime it comes out. I'm up for Battlefield 3 though.
Hey Portal fans! Maybe some of you don't know that the music for portal is available for download for free from their website. I have downloaded the album and so far I am amazed how good this album is. It also comes with the album cover. Also, they have free ringtones for android phones as well as for iPhone. Check it out! Reminds me of my first play through when I listen to some of the tracks.
Few days ago, Sony announced a new headset designed for the PS3. It is wireless and offers 7.1 surround sound. I wish I have waited for this to come out before I bought a PS3 bluetooth headset. The current headset is uncomfortable but it is nice because of it's minimalistic design. I think I will pick this new peripheral and then a surround sound system sometime in the future.
Oh and yes, that is a mic sticking out of that thing :)
There are many fan made films out there but this one stands out from all of them. If you are a Killzone fan, you might wanna try watching this. You can tell that there was so much effort put in this fan made movie. They spent quite a lot of money too. Make sure you thumb it up if you see it. Best Killzone fan made movie I've ever seen.
L.A Noir just came out and it not only sets up a new bar for facial animation but also causing a problem for PS3. So far Sony has confirmed that they have not yet determined what is causing the PS3 to overheat or shutdown. They are not sure if it is the new 3.61 firmware update or the game.
It's a crime scene alright
Recently, my PS3 has been freezing too. I am not sure what is causing it. I keep my vents clean and everything and it does feels hotter than before. However, I think it might be the game as it seems like will require tons of resources and processing power of the PS3. Is the PS3 pushed to its limits by this game or is it the 3.61 update?
I tried logging in on forums/community sites yesterday and I thought it is possible to do so again. Anyways, there was a security flaw in the log-in system where the hackers (who have obtained our information) has the ability to take over the account. The reason - they have our info. They have our birth dates, full name, and other stuff that could fool the system. Sony has brought PSN back down to prevent this from happening. Sony was given a warning by a security company in regards to this flaw.
Change your email address that is tied with your PSN account and change your passwords directly on your PS3.
Hi guys, I just want to spread the word out that the PSN will be down for 30 minutes to clear up the queue for those people who are requesting to change their password. Apparently, the servers are being overloaded for requests for password change. It is expected but after this, everything will be going as planned (I hope). Almost three weeks of no PSN and it will be down for 30 minutes. Patrick did not state when or what time it will occur.
"We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue."
- Patrick Seybold
No further details released. To keep connected to your online game, don't turn off your PS3. You might have a hard time logging back in.
